These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things #4

I have a confession to make. I have had a super lazy week as I had a couple of days of holiday from work and I spent the majority of those days in bed with a cold. Just to confirm - I am not normally this pathetic with a runny nose but seeing as I had the days off anyway I just felt like wallowing! This lack of social interaction (I honestly didn't get out of my duvet for a continuous 24 hours at one point) means that I don't have many favourites this week. However, by the end of the weekend I managed to haul myself out of bed long enough to go to the tastiest burger restaurant in all of Leeds which was definitely the one highlight of my week.

Lip Liner Sandwich

You know that feeling when you discover a new way of doing your makeup and you feel annoyed that you haven't been doing it your whole life? That happened to me this week. I feel like this is the beauty blogger equivalent of being a marine biologist and discovering a new species of whale or something...
Ok maybe it's not that groundbreaking, but my new way of making a bold lip last all day is pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

One Lovely Blog Award

A big thank you to Megan from Megan Hayes who has nominated me to do the ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ - how very exciting. Much like the Liebster Award that I did here, the idea is to help less well known bloggers gain some more awareness in the community which I am always up for! Here goes...

The Skincare Additions That Make All The Difference

Following on from Thursday's post about my daily skincare routine, today I will be running you through the extra products that compliment my routine but I don't use every day. There is no pattern to when I use these products, it's purely based on when I feel that my skin needs them (which is pretty regularly with my nightmare skin!).

My (Almost) Drugstore Skincare Routine

Let's start with a brief introduction to my skin. I have incredibly oily skin, and I mean INCREDIBLY. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation which is renowned for lasting all day, all night and until the next morning but my skin manages to melt it off my T-zone by 11am. This also means that I am very prone to blemishes and because of my super pale skin, I suffer from a lot of acne scarring too. Sounds great doesn't it, bet you're all wishing you had my skin type! Recently I pared back my routine and stopped changing up the products that I use as it was seriously aggravating my skin. I want to stick to the skin care routine below for a few months to recover the irritation I previously caused my skin by treating it like a chemical testing facility (nice).

Roll Out The Red Carpet For Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara

This mascara is a serious game changer. You can see from the pictures the miracles it has performed on my lashes in terms of curl and length, and this hasn't just happened by chance. Benefit have developed the newest addition to their mascara hall of fame specifically to do for your lashes what rollers do for your hair, so in theory we can now rid the world of eyelash curlers. While that might sound a bit drastic, the photos prove just how curly and luscious this mascara has made my lashes look. The way they have done this is by creating a brush that has tiny little hooks (don't be scared - they are so tiny you can barely see them) on the end of each plastic bristle so that it really grabs hold of the lash from the root to the tip. This way you get a continuous coat of mascara along each lash allowing your lashes to hold an impressive curl. I cannot fault anything about this mascara - from application to longevity to removal - it has it all. It is the ideal way to create a fluttery eye look with minimal effort, someone even asked me if I was wearing falsies yesterday! This might not be one for those of you who love instantly voluminous lashes but it is really easy to build up and layer so you can add volume to your liking as long as you have a bit of patience.

The Leather Candle That Will Rock Your World

Despite the title sounding slightly like something out of Fifty Shades of Grey, I promise that this is not where this post is heading. I am actually here today to tell you about my new favourite candle that you can pick up at your local Tesco.
