Drugstore Dupe // Foundation Edition

New foundation releases get me really excited (yes I realise that makes me sound like I have a very sad life). Due to my oily skin, I always struggle to find a foundation that stays put without looking cakey and I'm constantly on the hunt for a revolutionary foundation for us oily gals. As a student, L'Oreal True Match foundation was my go to for a beautiful base that didn't break the bank and when I started working I invested in some more expensive foundations from Estée Lauder and MAC. And you know what? I truly think that L'Oreal does it better, especially with their newest addition to the line-up.

Spring Picnic Ideas

Spring has definitely sprung here in the UK. Over the weekend my social media feeds were full of my friends’ posts about their first BBQs and picnics of the year and mine was no exception. It was a lovely day on Saturday so my friends and I went to a place near Leeds called Almscliffe Crag which is famous for being a good place for climbing. While my friends were climbing up the massive rocks, I chose to sit in the sunshine and eat our picnic because I am too clumsy/lazy to partake in any kind of dangerous activity. I definitely felt like I had got the better end of the bargain when I was munching down on my homemade pizza and chocolate filled strawberries and they were hanging upside down from overhanging rocks. The snacks that I made for the picnic were really yummy and a bit different from your normal picnic foods so I thought I would share the recipes with you. It must have been fate as I also just discovered that www.holidaycottages.co.uk are running a brilliant competition for bloggers at the minute to come up with some fun picnic ideas. See the details at the bottom of this post if you want to join in too. Finally we’ll get onto the recipes for my favourite picnic snacks, they are all pretty simple to make and taste a lot better than shop bought sandwiches so I would love to know if any of you try them out!

Cyprus Photo Diary

For the past week I have been in Cyprus with my lovely family. It was a much needed relaxed type of holiday with lots of eating, drinking, watching beautiful sunsets and paddling in the sea. We also did a bit of sightseeing – we drove up into the snowy mountains, did a Segway tour of the city of Paphos, climbed the rocks in a local fishing town and visited an ancient amphitheatre. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and it was great to spend time with my family seeing as I miss them so much when I am working! Unfortunately I will be back to reality with a bump tomorrow when I go back to the office but I feel much more chilled after two weeks off (although I probably won’t be saying that when I see my email inbox tomorrow morning)!

My Travel Bucket List

Hello everyone! As you are reading this, I am on holiday in Cyprus with limited access to internet so I am writing this post in advance. Thursdays are usually when my weekly favourites go up but as I can’t predict what I will be loving next week, I thought I would write a different type of post today. I have recently been thinking a lot about travelling as I want to take a year off after I finish university to see the world before I get into a full time job and have no time to do anything (as you probably can tell, I am starting to feel slightly depressed about leaving uni and the fact that I will actually have to do something with my life!). So today I have decided to give you guys a quick run down of the top ten places in the world that I want to visit, which is quite appropriate timing seeing as I am on holiday at the moment. See below for my Travel Bucket List…
