My Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

‘What are your favourite MAC lipsticks?’ is the question that all big beauty bloggers claim that they get asked all the time. So today I am taking you guys on a whistle stop tour of my MAC lipstick collection by showing you my 5 most well used and well loved…

My lovely mum actually bought me my first MAC lipstick and it is still one of my all-time faves. I don’t know how she found this little gem at a MAC counter by herself but she excelled herself by choosing Peach Blossom. This pale peachy nude is a cremesheen formula so it has a lovely creamy texture with a good level of pigment. The pale hue makes this the perfect lipstick to nude out lips when wearing intense eye makeup without looking like you have smeared concealer all over your lips. This has to be one of my most used lipsticks so please forgive its battered appearance, it has been through a lot!

The next in my top 5 is the beautiful Plumful. This one is still on the more nude end of the spectrum of my faves even though it has a muted purple hue running through it. My favourite way to wear this is lightly swept over the lips for a sheer wash of plum to warm up my complexion. Worn like this, Plumful gives a subtle injection of colour which makes it my favourite ‘my lips but better’ (sorry for using the most annoying phrase in beauty blogging!) shade.

Now things start to get a bit more interesting in the colour department with my next offering. I am not usually one for colour and I still don’t wear a bold lip on a daily basis but since I discovered this lip liner trick I have become more confident in wearing bright lip colours such as Rebel. I did feel like a bit of a rebel when I bought this one because it looks super vampy and dark in the tube which is unlike any colour I have ever worn. However on the lips this is a beautiful raspberry toned purple, the colour reminds me of Ribena in a way! This is a classic shade for autumn/winter but a light wash still looks great in the summer.

My final two lipsticks are my favourite red lipsticks of all time. I usually wear a lip lacquer for a really long lasting bold lip but if I don’t need my lip colour to last all day then the matte MAC lipsticks are the best lipstick formulas I’ve tried for bright colours that still feel comfortable on the lips. My favourite two reds are the cult classics from MAC in the form of Lady Danger and Russian Red. Lady Danger is a unique orangey red and Russian Red is a true Hollywood red and they are both beaaaatiful. If I was asked to choose between them I don’t think I could, it would be like choosing between children!

What is your favourite MAC lipstick that you own or that you want in your collection?
